What you will be able to do
- Choose an approved AI tool for a task, and know what to do when no approved tool exists
- Keep personal, customer and confidential data out of your prompts, with habits that take seconds
- Recognise biased output and know how to respond when you find it
- Verify AI-generated facts, quotes and figures before they reach a client or a decision
- Decide when a person must make the final call, especially in decisions about people
- Explain in plain language how the EU AI Act sorts AI systems by risk
How the course works
Lessons are short and built around real workplace situations: the summary that invents a figure, the shortlist that looks too neat, the manager who says a public chatbot is fine for customer data. Each section ends with a check, and role plays let you practise the conversation, not just the theory.
You keep a set of downloadable resources, including a reference card for choosing AI tools, a bias-spotting checklist and a safe-prompting cheat sheet.
What this course is not
- Not a technical course on building or training AI models
- Not legal advice, and not a certification: no course makes an organisation compliant on its own
About Article 4 of the EU AI Act
Article 4 has applied since 2 February 2025. As amended by Regulation (EU) 2026/1744, in force since 27 July 2026, it asks providers and deployers of AI systems to take measures to support the development of AI literacy among their staff. It does not require a certificate. This course can be one of those measures, and the Udemy certificate of completion gives you a dated record that the training took place. Last checked: November 2026.
Questions
Does the EU AI Act require this course?
No law requires a specific course. Article 4 asks organisations that provide or deploy AI systems to take measures that support AI literacy. Training like this is one way to do that; your organisation decides which measures fit its staff and its use of AI.
Do I need to install anything?
No. A web browser and access to any general AI assistant, even a free one, is all you need to follow along.
Is there a certificate?
Udemy issues a certificate of completion when you finish the course. It records that you completed the training; it is not a legal certification.
